My story
Hello everyone and welcome to my personal blog!
I'm excited to share a few pages of my life here and create this space. I thought that writing out a few of my experiences would give me nice outlet to speak my mind and at the same time, give my story a bit more life and meaningful memory as well.
So without further ado, let's start in a galaxy far far away.. Well, not really but it did feel that way when I reminisce about everything started... from my birthplace Bahrain to living and growing with my loving and dear family and then studying for my undergraduate degree in Washington, D.C. all while meeting new and diverse people and experiencing lovely memories along the way to permanently moving to the United States, getting married and now free and pursuing my happiness, it's been quite the journey so far yet I know this, it's only getting started.

I was named Yusuf when I was born in Awali, Bahrain. For those of you who don't know, Bahrain is a tiny island (or an island of islands as I like to remember it) on December 11, 1990. I lived with my parents and brother for 28 years (give or take a few gaps) in a nice, cute and cozy home. I was surrounded by pure love and genuine care and I couldn't think my life was going to change beyond my birthplace. That was until I expanded my horizons, thought outside the bounds of my environment, trusted my instincts and went with my feelings and thought to myself, am I truly who I'm meant to be here?
You may be asking why would someone who felt loved by his family and was pretty comfortable with life feel this way.
Well, there isn't a simple answer as life is so multifaceted and unpredictable at times. But if this is me trying to summarize over 30 years of my life and explain what it came down to, it was because I felt I had no genuine self-determination; no choice over how my life was going to pan out (which was great in it's own way) and more importantly, I felt somewhat disconnected from such a connected place strangely enough. That made me feel somewhat uncertain about controlling and manifesting my own destiny... until recently.
After 28 years of trying to discover myself with family and friends, 2018 was the year I permanently moved to the U.S. and found my own home with my partner, now wife, Hina Zaidi.

I developed, continued to grow and change ever since we've met in a class called changing views of the universe dAt American University (Go Eagles!) and now, I finally feel that destiny is now in my own hands.

With that being said, I can never forget my family's contributions and effort towards my upbringing as I'll be the first to say that I'm not an easy person to live with (just ask my wife 😅). My parents unconditionally gave me the perfect foundation, childhood, shelter and living environment for 28 years and I wouldn't be the person I am today without them so if you're reading this Mom or Dad, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your contributions, both seen and unseen, towards the person I am today have a special place in my heart. I love you both immeasureably.

Now as I continue to settle in the USA and follow my American Dream, I will always come back here to write and reflect as the flow of my life continues to move through the waves.
